Vento Linux

This is the project page of “Vento Linux”, formerly “Ubento Linux” which is basically a VMware Virtual Machine of Ubuntu 12.04, Subsonic and ownCloud. It was also a tutorial for how to install all of the software yourself on Ubuntu 12.04.

Vento means “wind” (kind of like cloud?) meaning that this is an Ubuntu Server with cloud based apps.
See the previous posts on Ubento here:

I am going to do another tutorial for either Ubuntu 14.01 or 15.01 and another VMware Virtual Machine. If there is interest in other formats such as VirtualBox I may be able to do that too. You have to let me know what the people want! I really hope I can make an installable ISO in the future but for now I am just going to work on the new version. Check back for updates. This project isn’t dead! I still use Subsonic and ownCloud all the time. They are a great home server combo. This is the project page to try to keep all the info and comments in one place.

If there is still interest in the old version I can host a .torrent file. Let me know in the comments.

Please post all questions and comments about this project on this page so we can try to keep all the support / info in one place.

Thanks for all of your interest!
